Welcome to Aussie Athlete Fund's athlete information platform.
Here you will find useful information regarding the $1 Million Challenge, including education resources, coaching call playbacks, what's up next and helpful hints. The following has been broken down into steps for ease.
Your $1 Million Challenge steps
We hold monthly Zoom coaching calls with Nat Cook for businesses and athletes to join, plus monthly meetings for athletes to have confidential and open conversations about the Challenge. A meeting is held at the conclusion of the Challenge to gather feedback.
Register for the Athlete Fundraising Academy, powered by etrainu. Once registered, you will see all of the education modules — the second being how to set up your Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) page.
Your first Challenge is to create your own Australian Sports Foundation page (see the education module on how to do this effectively). Please add the following to your ASF page:
- A one-liner at the bottom of your description: “I am very excited to be part of the $1M Challenge, powered by Ampol.”
- A unique photo of you and your business, and/or a photo of you with the $1M Challenge logo.
Once you have your social media graphic, feel free to announce across your channels prior to the Aussie Athlete Fund — we will be scatter-announcing over a few weeks.
Caption idea (paired with a business): “I am very excited to be part of the @aussieathletefund $1M Challenge, powered by @ampolaustralia! I have been paired with [your business] and we are on our way to raising $10k for my journey. If you would like to contribute, please donate here [your ASF link].”
Caption idea (yet to be paired): “I am very excited to be part of the @aussieathletefund $1M Challenge, powered by @ampolaustralia! I am seeking a business/organisation to team up with me on my fundraising journey. If you are interested in helping me raise $10k, please contact me!”
Create your video for social media, guest-speaking presentations and more. Download the Cinefly app and use the code aafund to view the portrait and horizontal storyboards. Get creating and post once you have been announced on the AAF page.
If you create any collateral specific to this Challenge, please use the following colours:
- Green: #3db072
- Gold: #ac8a0c
- White
- Black
- Aim big, but also approach your local butcher, fruit store, mechanic, café, Bunnings or pet store and pitch to them in person.
- Leverage your hobbies and interests outside of sport — animals, cooking, painting, lawns — and pitch to that market.
